What's included in our alcohol rehab programme
Every treatment plan is tailored to the unique needs of the individual. Here is what a stay at Keystone Lodge brings together.
-
Keystone Lodge provides a safe, private and supportive residential alcohol rehabilitation programme in Auckland for people ready to break free from alcohol dependence.
Stepping away from everyday life allows guests to focus entirely on recovery, away from the people, places and routines that may have contributed to alcohol use. Within our peaceful rural setting, guests have the opportunity to reset physically, emotionally and mentally while receiving around-the-clock support from a compassionate team.
Our boutique environment ensures every guest is known personally and receives individualised care throughout their stay. Recovery is never one-size-fits-all, which is why every treatment plan is tailored to the unique needs of the individual.
-
No two people experience addiction in the same way, so no two recovery journeys should look the same.
At Keystone Lodge, our person-centred approach means we work alongside each guest to understand their experiences, strengths, challenges and goals. Rather than fitting people into a standard programme, we tailor treatment around the individual.
Our multidisciplinary team recognises that addiction often exists alongside trauma, anxiety, depression, grief or other life challenges. Recovery is therefore about much more than simply stopping alcohol. It is about rediscovering purpose, rebuilding confidence and creating a meaningful life beyond addiction.
-
Guests receive comprehensive therapeutic support throughout their stay, including individual counselling, group therapy, recovery mentoring and psychological support where appropriate.
Our experienced AOD therapists and recovery mentors combine professional expertise with lived experience, providing compassionate guidance while gently challenging guests to explore the underlying causes of addiction.
This balance of therapeutic care from addiction specialists and genuine human connection helps guests develop healthier coping strategies, emotional resilience and the confidence to move forward in recovery.
-
A consistent daily routine provides stability, accountability and purpose throughout recovery.
Each day is thoughtfully structured with a combination of individual therapy, group sessions, recovery mentoring, exercise, mindfulness, education, external recovery meetings and meaningful community connection.
Alongside therapy, guests also benefit from movement, nourishing nutrition, breathwork, Reformer Pilates, Mat Pilates, mindfulness, meditation and a range of holistic wellness practices designed to support physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Healthy routines developed during residential treatment become the foundation for lasting recovery long after guests leave Keystone Lodge.
-
Addiction affects the entire family, not just the individual.
We believe recovery is strongest when families are supported alongside their loved one. Throughout a guest’s stay, we provide opportunities for family communication, education and guidance to help rebuild trust, improve understanding and strengthen relationships.
Recovery is a shared journey, and our support extends beyond the individual to the people who matter most.
-
Recovery doesn’t end when someone leaves Keystone Lodge. It evolves.
One of the most important aspects of our programme is preparing guests for life beyond residential treatment. Throughout their stay, each guest develops practical relapse prevention strategies and a personalised aftercare plan to support ongoing recovery.
Our aftercare programme provides continued connection, accountability and encouragement during the transition back into everyday life. Whether through recovery mentoring, regular check-ins or community support, our guests remain part of the Keystone Lodge family long after graduation.
Because at Keystone Lodge, recovery is never about completing a programme. It’s about building a life worth staying sober for.
-
At Keystone Lodge, we believe recovery is about far more than simply stopping alcohol or drugs. True and lasting recovery comes from caring for the whole person: mind, body and spirit.
Alongside evidence-based therapy and recovery mentoring, our holistic programme supports every aspect of wellbeing. Guests benefit from movement, nourishing nutrition, breathwork, mindfulness, meditation, Reformer Pilates, Mat Pilates and meaningful activities designed to restore balance, reduce stress and build resilience.
We also recognise the importance of connection, purpose and rediscovering joy. Time spent in nature, community activities, healthy routines and opportunities for self-reflection all play an important role in helping guests reconnect with themselves and create a life that feels meaningful beyond addiction.
By addressing the underlying causes of addiction and not just the symptoms, we help each person build a strong foundation for lasting change.

Alcohol rehab provides structured treatment and support for people who want to stop drinking and build a life in recovery. At Keystone Lodge, our private residential alcohol rehab programme combines evidence-based therapy, recovery mentoring, daily structure and holistic wellbeing within a safe, supportive environment away from everyday triggers.
-
Residential alcohol rehab may be appropriate when alcohol use is becoming difficult to control or is affecting your health, relationships, work or everyday life. It can also provide additional structure and support for people who have tried to stop drinking previously but have found it difficult to maintain change on their own.
-
This depends on your current alcohol use and individual circumstances. Alcohol withdrawal can require medical management, so we discuss detox requirements and our detox support as part of the pre-admission process. Where detox is required, a safe and appropriate plan will need to be in place before beginning residential alcohol rehab.
-
Absolutely. Keystone Lodge is a private residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation centre, and we understand how important privacy and discretion can be when seeking treatment. Personal information and participation in the programme are treated confidentially, subject to our professional, legal and safety obligations.
-
Keystone Lodge offers both a 15-day and a 30-day residential alcohol rehab programme, with the most appropriate length of stay guided by each person’s circumstances, recovery needs and goals. Our 30-day programme allows more time to establish stability and engage deeply in therapeutic and recovery work, while a 15-day programme can provide a focused and individualised period of treatment and support where appropriate.
-
During residential alcohol rehab, each day provides a balance of structure, therapeutic and recovery-focused work, individual support and activities that promote physical and emotional wellbeing. Guests participate in AOD therapy, recovery mentoring, group sessions, physical activity and holistic wellbeing practices, while developing practical strategies for life in recovery.
-
Recovery continues beyond residential treatment. Before leaving Keystone Lodge, we work alongside each guest to develop an individualised aftercare and relapse-prevention plan, helping them maintain connection, accountability and ongoing recovery support as they transition back into everyday life.
-
The first step is a confidential conversation with our team. We’ll listen to what is happening, answer your questions and discuss whether residential rehab at Keystone Lodge may be the right fit for you. If you decide to proceed, we’ll guide you through the pre-admission process and help prepare you for your arrival.
